NBA Jnr @ Ponteland High School

May 16th, 2025
This was after posting a 37-17 win against Ponteland High School in the conference semi final. There were some fantastic performances from all the boys involved with MVP performances from Zach Gallant-McGhee & Mekson Hariteab.
We look forward to hearing who are opponents are for the conference final.

U15 Cricket team

May 15th, 2025
With St Thomas More electing to bat, their opening partnership batted exceptionally well to give them a strong start. St Joseph’s finally broke the partnership and the innings ended on 148-4 with 2 wickets for Euan A and a wicket a-piece for Kieran L and U13 player Jonny M!
With a big total to chase down, St Joseph’s started really well with 2 out of the top 3 batsman being forced to retire due to scoring maximum runs (Harry B and Euan A). A really good contribution from the middle order kept St Joseph’s ahead of the run rate up until the 16th over. Unfortunately some accurate and skilful bowling in the final overs from Thomas More left us 10 runs short of the total.
A brilliant game to be part of with lots of positives to take. Well done gents.

The lads currently sit second in the South Tyneside Schools league. Congratulations to @JarrowSchool who have already picked up the league title. Good luck to all members of the squad past and present as they prepare for their GCSE examinations over May/June.

Law Apprenticeships at Magic Circle Firm

May 1st, 2025

This is an even bigger achievement considering the huge amount of applications Clifford Chance received and the small amount of apprenticeships actually available. Eva and Adam follow in the footsteps of Sophie Perry and Aaron Whyte, St Joseph’s Law Alumni from 2024, who are both currently in their first year of the apprenticeship and doing brilliantly.

Mr. Mather and the Law and Politics Department are extremely proud of Eva and Adam, who will no doubt flourish in their new roles once they have completed their A Levels and we are very much looking forward to seeing their successes in the future!

England Handball North East Regional finals

April 30th, 2025

In the morning it was the turn of the U13 girls and boys teams. Both teams played some brilliant stuff which ended in both teams winning the competition and being crowned North East Champions. In the afternoon it was the turn of our U15 boys team who were part of a really competitive tournament with some great sides from across the North East. The boys ended up tied for first place with 2 other teams and ultimately missed out on being crowned champions and a place in the national finals on goal difference. Congratulations to all three teams and their great success and good luck to our u13 teams who will play in Nottingham in June at the National finals.

If there are any companies who would be interested in sponsoring our teams at the national finals then please get in touch. Your support would be much appreciated.
