Future Ready Programme

18th July 2017

We have been awarded more than £60 000 by the Edge Foundation to better prepare our students for higher and degree apprenticeships. Building on its Futures Ready programme, St Joseph’s will link with Sunderland University to develop courses that enable students to spend two days each week working with industry professional in the workplace alongside academic and technical learning. We know that employers in the North East want people with relevant work skills and real-world experience. This project will see more young people securing these apprenticeships and developing long-term careers. whilst meeting the needs of the region. The grant is one of just 12 awarded this year by the independent education charity Edge from a total fund of £1 million. The Chief Executive Alice Barnard said, “St Joseph’s has an impressive track record of supporting its students into further education, employment and training”
